You know you're making me drool all over my pizza...

That's right, I eat in front of my computer and wonder why the keys are sticking.

I only have a cell, and reception is poorest inside my own house Evil or Very Mad so maybe email would be best.

I have to say that the two hosts I've dealt with, Globat and IX, are okay but still have some problems with sites being down for hours or days with no explanation but "routine service". And getting a new site set up at Globat can take several days, which is quite annoying. So I'm all ears on a good reliable host.

But advertising is what I suck at the most. I have no money to spare. Tried AdWords one day but lost money. I've got Adsense running on several sites, but they're low-traffic and I only make $2-$5/month. I have been doing "charity" sites and they don't like ads (can't blame them, since content is frequently for competing religions or UFO cults or whatnot).

Another problem is I really don't have a good grasp of eCommerce. If anybody wanted a store I wouldn't know what to recommend. I've dabbled with OScommerce but usually just use Paypal services because I don't have to worry about security, credit cards, etc. And if something went wrong I could easily get help. But OSCommerce is a monster package that I found difficult to work with (maybe they've improved in the last year, I don't know).

Can I expect to do much business without commerce capability, or is that pretty much required? I've only done information/articles sites so far.

So should I try to avoid selling to people who can do their own ftp and just offer CMS systems?

All this thinking... need ice cream.

Made a second version of my CMS web:

[link]

Problem is, I'm using PNGs for the buttons, and I found a "pingfix" javascript doc that supposedly fixes it, but it still isn't working in IE < 7. Looks great in Firefox and Safari. Stupid IE!!

Update: found out the pngfix code does not work with CSS background images. Aarrrgh!! Gonna have to use jpegs I guess. Crap.

Did a make-over-over of the theology site: [link]

This is my first attempt at a graphical fluid layout. The middle and right columns are based on percentage widths so the screen can stretch or shrink to fit the window (no tables of course). Validates to XHTML Strict and CSS. Seems to work well on major browsers and platforms too. Also looks okay with images and styles disabled and will function without javascript. Only the Babel Fish and searches use it anyway, and they can still work without it. Everything else is done with CSS.
