Help with Colorful Classy Text

Hi

I wanna make a soem cool text with the Coloful Glassy Text Tutorial [link]
but im stuck, i realy tried everything

Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and click this layer, to make a selection of everything in this layer:

When i hold down the Ctrl key and when i click on the layer nothing happends, can somebody help me please?

Hi there Zamorak, sorry you're having trouble.
Two things to check:
Are you sure you're clicking on the layer that has the text it in?

Are you holding CTRL and clicking the actual Layer (in the layers pallet, not the canvas...)?

If you are, try this little work around.

Get out the Rectangular marquee tool.

Press CTRL + A to highlight everything.

Press "V" on your keyboard to get out the move tool.

Press the UP ARROW once, and then the DOWN ARROW once...

This should do the same thing, as CTRL Clicking on the text layer.
