Posting Guidelines for PhotoshopForce.com

In order to provide a more helpful atmosphere for those seeking help with their graphical endeavors, we ask that you follow a few simple guidelines. This isn't so we can act like a gaggle of draconian little control freaks, trust us. In fact, we hope you'll read, understand, and follow these guidelines prior to posting so we don't have to waste time moving threads around. Because frankly, we'd rather be spending our time offering help to the many fine and talented members of this board.

First and foremost, please always attempt to be helpful and courteous with the users here on these forums. There is constructive criticism, and then there is rude, belittling sniping. Please do your best to know the difference. These forums are here for topical, civilized discussions. If you are here to start a flame war, save us the time of moving your submissions and post here. We realize discussions may get heated on occasion. It's bound to happen when a group of creative minds get together in one room. When and if they do erupt however, they will be moved to the [SPAM] Can forum in order to allow the non-flaming members of this board to continue engaging in the attack-free discussions that a vast majority of us here are seeking. We strongly feel everyone on this board has the right to participate without being drawn into the ring, so to speak - so please pick your "battles" with care or we will be forced to pick a new home for said flames.

Also please be aware that this site's membership includes minors, and we insist there be no X-rated or illegal material posted here. If it's not something you'd consider "worksafe", then please do not post it. Anything along the lines of mischevious coding, flooding, pornography will be removed immediately, post haste, and without need for justification.

For the convenience of all members, we also ask that discussions take place in the sections they are designated for. To clarify, we've outlined the various forums and what they are intended for below.

General Forum: This forum is for general discussions among the various people who read at PhotoshopForce.com, and PhotoshopTower.com. It is not for posting site review requests or tutorials however. We have made separate forums for these things, as listed next for your convenience.

Tutorial Utopia: This forum is for posting either a tutorial you've written, -or- posting requests for a tutorial you'd like to read. Please refrain from posting anything except tutorials and tutorial requests in Tutorial Utopia, as it only goes without saying this will make it much easier for our mods to see and respond to your requests.

Site Check: Here is where you can post your site and get feedback from the members here at PhotoshopForce.com. Remember, we are here to help you in a constructive way, so don't be shy! We encourage everyone to be every bit as honest as they are courteous here.

Advertisements: This is the designated plug your project or site section of our board. Again, please do not place advertisements anywhere but here. We have enough actively engaged and curious people here that they will surely be inclined to check this board. Please don't compromise the success of your "plug" by placing it in sections of the board where it is uninvited. If you insist on doing so, it could be perceived as deliberate spamming, and be moved accordingly (see below..heh)

The Spam Can: This section should be abundantly self-explanatory, but suffice to say - The users of PhotoshopForce.com are not interested in being spammed with repetitive posts ...Especially off-topic posts. You can rest assured that if you insist on doing this, your posts will find themselves in The Spam Can. Please ask if you have questions, but do not expect to find your posts anywhere but here if you opt to ignore this very simple request from the mods of this board.

One final but very important note to all users: While we DO encourage the utilization of one's search feature because of the wealth of information it will produce, this is NOT a board where we want people recieving snooty, condescending little scoldings for asking a question that may (or may not... remember, context is everything) have been discussed already. You are free to link them to a relevant thread that can help them with their question, but we do not want to be one of those boards where newbies have to encounter answers like "If you would use your search feature, you'd know the answer", and other similarly abrupt and non-helpful answers. Please, if this is your ONLY contribution in response to an honest question, then let one of the other more willing participants answer the question. We anticipate there will be many of them Wink
