Fantastic idea flea, this would make a great tutorial indeed. I've never done it myself, but from what murderNickle just said it doesn't sound like it would be too hard - just very very ... very very very time comsunimg... lol
MurderNickle, you mentioned that you have a program that extracts each frame of a video, mind if l ask what program that is; and where it can be found?
Also, what kind of videos can it break down? Do they have to be in a certain format, or can it handle a lot of different file formats?
-- to flea,
If l get the info that l need from murderNickle and play with it for a bit l will write a tutorial on this topic. Like l said, l think this is a great idea for a tutorial as l myself haven't seen any tutorials on creating this effect. But (there's always a but.. ) it will take me some time, as l'm literally swamped with projects and won't have time for this type of undertaking for awhile... But l will do it if no one else does, l swear!

| Murdernickle wrote: | Actually, just tooling around, I found that you can do this in Imageready.
It can open videos and import them as each individual frame...Though the movies basically HAVE to be mpegs...otherwise you get a blank screen...avi's don't really work.
Anyway, so you jsut go to File > Open and find the file. It will bring up another window that you can pick which parts you want and how many of the frames you want and so one.
Then it will import it all into separate frames.
Then once you have that you can go to File > Export > Animation Frames As Files
Then just play with the settings, you can have it export as gifs, jpeg, whatever you want and choose the files name and path and so on then it will save each as a separate file for you to edit
EDIT:
Or actually, another thing you may notice...after being imported, all the frames are split up into layers on the alyers pallete....so really you could just highlight them all and drag them straight into your design. |
Very cool, l just tested this and you're right. I've got some mega cool ideas now thanks!
Also, if you can recall the name of that software you had used in the past, could you share that with us? |

Ya, I found the older piece of software I had.
It was called "Gif Movie Gear"
It's not free, but it was a cool little program. |
